Visit with a creative reuse artist, part 2

Last week I showed photos of Daisy's Kitten & Hamster House. Now let's check out her ocean home for little sea animals (a.k.a. bath toys)!:

Open the lid and... see them in their pool. There's Popcorn, the dolphin (at the bottom) and Strawberry, the turtle.

Strawberry loves to jump rope!

She's really good at it! :^D

Their pool contains their food, of course. Other goodies include their special mat (with matching towel for Strawberry) and the colorful (toilet paper roll) tunnel.

During this tour I learned that this friendly dinosaur stores some of the smaller creatures in his mouth. What could go wrong there?

And while little sister Valerie transformed ever-so-briefly into Tinkerbell...

...we took some time to get a little silly with the camera.

Great visit!!

A truly creative reuse artist

Late yesterday I had the pleasure of visiting with Daisy and the homes she's created for her many little friends. These are the members of the Kitten and Hamster House:

From this photo she'd e-mailed me earlier, we can see the art on the walls, the swing hanging from the ceiling in front, the broom in the back corner, and the scribbled slide in the back, among other features.

Here's where the power comes in (marked by Blueberry, the bunny). It's ready when everyone gets up in the morning.

This is the yellow climbing rope that hangs above the kittens and hamsters (in their little box-shaped bed).

Here's the owl; she loves to read books. And who's that in the back corner? I can't remember now. Is that Flake?

One of the hamsters comes down the slide and onto the swing!

Blueberry — extreeeeme close-up!

The new big hanging box is where the gang's really special stuff is kept.

Treasure corner!

Let's examine some of that treasure.

Nice bling, indeed!

Happy Birthday America!

July 4th is just around the corner so it's only appropriate to share this fabulous piece of creative reuse by 7 year old Jackson V. & 5 year old Lauren V. of Kensington, Maryland. Save your caps for your own flag (or save your caps for SCRAP!).

Happy 4th of July!
